Team Building / Leadership

  • Motivated employees to the highest degree of Customer Service while encouraging confidence and self development goals to others, resulting in achievement of the “Winning Spirit Award” from Southwest Airlines in 1987 and 1998.

  • Inspired other leaders to an outside the lines approach to boost performance at the Phoenix Station aiding in the achievement of “Mega Station of the Year Award” at Southwest Airlines for 2006.

  • Recognized for ability to develop consensus for strategic planning among Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport stakeholders in planning, emergency and security procedures.

Operational Management

  • Negotiated facilities, properties, and construction projects to decrease costs, and reduce interruptions to normal operations.

  • Managed planning for an expanding operation with more than 200 flights daily and 750 Ground Operation personnel.

  • Supported code-share operations, interline objectives and relations with other air carriers.

  • Coordinated airport construction projects and contractual activities to save the company over $200,000 annually.

 

Corporate Training

  • Conducted training, coached and mentored 750 station employees, coordinated Company sponsored and Federal mandated training for new recruits, recurrent training programs for employees and contractual services.

  • Produced programs to reduce costly aircraft damage, increase efficiency of servicing aircraft and equipment, and improve baggage handling.

  • Facilitated numerous presentations and learning programs on system development, procedure and business change.

  • Develop and edit training procedures and practices relevant to security, industry changes and Company performance goals.

  • Liaison to the TSA and Airport authorities to oversee and coordinate the development of training processes and equipment changes in the improvement of the Customer experience after 9/11.

  • Maintained a safe work environment by initiating programs designated to help reduce industrial accidents and on the job injuries.
